Dr Nic Waddell is Head of the Medical Genomics Team at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research institute. She was awarded an NHMRC Investigator Grant in 2022. Her research group is comprised of collaborative bioinformaticians who analyse multi-omic data to gain insights into cancer development and the tumour microenvironment. She has an interest in profiling a variety of tumours including oesophageal cancer, lung cancer and melanoma to identify prognostic and treatment markers. She has published in high impact journals including in Nature, Nature Genetics and Nature Communications with her work has been cited more than 30,000 times.
