A/Prof. Fernando Guimaraes, PHD is the leader of the Translational Innate Immunotherapy Group at the Frazer Institute – University of Queensland. He was the first PhD student to complete a thesis by the prestigious Pasteur-Paris University International Doctoral Program (France) in 2012, and pursued post-doctoral work at the WEHI before starting his independent program in 2019. His group focuses to identify and translate the role of natural killer (NK) cells and develop novel immunotherapy approaches for hard-to-cure diseases.
